about the project

Alma de Madre is a therapy brand founded by Karla Hernández, a bilingual therapist in Los Angeles, CA who specializes in maternal mental health. More than a website, Alma de Madre needed a digital home that felt honest, raw, and relatable for mothers navigating identity loss, exhaustion, postpartum depression, and trauma.


From the beginning, it was clear that the goal wasn't to simply “look professional online.” The goal was to build something real, a space rooted in emotion, nuance, and the reality of motherhood. Karla wanted her site to feel like a hug to the women she supports: Latina mothers and mothers-to-be who are often underserved and overlooked.

the process

  • We began with brand messaging and content strategy, identifying key phrases, emotional pain points, and values Karla wanted to express always centering the lived experience of motherhood.
  • Next, we created wireframes with strategic CTAs, clear bilingual navigation, and space for blog content and resources to grow her SEO authority.
  • The design phase focused on muted, organic colors, and hand-picked imagery that reflects Karla’s grounded and honest tone. Every decision, from fonts to colors, was made with intention to mirror Karla’s therapeutic presence.
  • We created SEO-optimized landing pages for each of her key specialties (postpartum depression, anxiety, pregnancy loss, etc.) and localized them.
  • We also developed blog content with SEO strategy and internal linking to support visibility and long-term discoverability.

the results

After 10 months of SEO from our legacy website management plan:

  • Website is ranking in 200+ keywords
  • 137 visitors specifically from Los Angeles and without paid ads
  • Location pages are getting impressions and a few clicks, a strong indicator that Google is recognizing the service areas.
  • 14 form submissions (excluding our tests) which puts the site at a 20 percent conversion rate. That is exceptional for cold and targeted traffic.
  • Out of those leads, 3 came directly from Google, showing that the foundation we’ve been building is starting to take hold.
