about the project

Cristina Lugo is a therapist based in Southern California, specializing in therapy for teens and young adults, with a trauma-informed, identity-affirming approach. Her work centers around helping adolescents navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity confusion, particularly in BIPOC and LGBTQ+ populations.


Before working together, Cristina had a simple website that didn’t reflect the depth of her expertise or the warmth and grounding energy she brings to her work. She wanted a site that spoke directly to teenagers and their parents, offering a space that felt safe, validating, and culturally competent. More than aesthetics, her need was clarity: how to position her niche and communicate her value in a saturated market.


Our focus was on helping her define a brand voice that felt calm, grounded, and affirming then crafting copy that spoke directly to the emotional experience of her ideal clients: teenagers who feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck, and parents who are seeking a supportive, non-judgmental therapist.

the process

We began with a deep dive brand messaging session to understand Cristina's story, values, and ideal clients. From this, we created a brand guide that outlined her tone.

Then we moved into website copywriting, focusing on:

  • A home page that speaks to both teens and their parents
  • A specializations pages for her multiple therapy approaches
  • A dedicated EMDR page, explaining the modality in clear, accessible language for families

the results

After 5 months of SEO from our legacy website management plan:

  • Website is ranking in 130+ keywords
  • 127 clicks from Los Angeles, 37 from Pasadena, 14 from San Jose , which is exactly the type of traffic we want.
  • Location pages are  still brand now so they should start getting impressions and a few clicks in the next 12 months 
  • 112 organic URL clicks with an average position of 37 in 5.5 months without any consistent blogging yet.
  • 12  form submissions (excluding our tests) which puts the site at a 10 percent conversion rate. That is exceptional for cold and targeted traffic.
  • Out of those leads, 1 came directly from Google, showing that the foundation we’ve been building is starting to take hold (and now with the rollout of the location pages we should see more leads from Google in the next couple of months)
