about the project
Richard De La Garza is an LCSW, doctoral candidate, and trauma-informed therapist serving veterans and leadership professionals in San Diego, California, and New York. His work integrates trauma therapy, social justice, neurodiversity-affirming care, and systems leadership to support veterans, first-generation scholars, BIPOC communities, and neurodiverse clients. The goal of this project was to create a website that could communicate the depth of his clinical work, leadership philosophy, and Freire-inspired approach in a way that felt grounded, strategic, and deeply human.

the process
We began with deep brand messaging and strategy work focused on Richard’s experience supporting veterans, high-responsibility professionals, and men navigating trauma, identity, leadership, and life transitions. Through the workbook process, we clarified how to translate his military-informed perspective, therapeutic approach, and leadership philosophy into grounded and accessible website copy. The final direction focused on creating a structured, emotionally grounded, and trustworthy digital presence that balanced professionalism, strength, emotional depth, and real human connection.

After a few months of launch and consistent SEO implementation, Richard’s website is beginning to build steady organic visibility on Google without paid advertising.
